Does Memory Training Work?

Forgetfulness can feel permanent, yet memory is not a storage box that simply fills up. At Study Fast, I see it as a trainable process involving attention, encoding, association, storage and recall. The direct answer is yes, memory training can work when you practise a specific skill with the right method. It is less convincing when an app promises a general rise in intelligence from repeated brain games. In the past, many learners depended on cramming and rereading. Today, research supports active recall, spaced practice and visual mnemonics, while future training will likely become more personal and measurable.
